Details: Build a New Garage in Lancaster, PA
The business owner wanted to expand his company’s shop space with a 1,200 sq. ft. addition. He needed the expansion to match the existing building, as well as fit in with the residential community where his company is located.
In order to add space to the building, I removed the existing building’s flat roof and added attic trusses in a reverse to match the existing building’s roof. I built a pent roof to transition from the board and batten siding to the vinyl Cedar Impressions® Shakes. To create high ceiling space inside the building, I added scissor trusses on half the addition to better accommodate the business’s product assembly needs.

For this project, new siding was needed to modernize the home. I removed the home’s aluminum siding, fascia and soffit. To increase energy efficiency, I wrapped the house with polystyrene foam. I also replaced three older windows with Harvey Building Products vinyl windows. I used natural clay vinyl siding around the home and white aluminum for the fascia and soffit. The homeowner had a new roof installed to complete the look.
